Caring for your Sterling Silver jewelry Part 1

Posted by

What is Sterling silver? It is a silver alloy that contains 92.5 percent silver and 7.5 percent of other metals. Pure silver is to soft to use for for designing and everyday use. It can bend or break easily. Adding other, more durable, metal to the mix ensures that your silver jewelry will last a lot longer, and maintain its beauty. It will be identified with a 925 marking if room permits on the piece.

The bag I provide at the time of your sale will help keep the tarnish off your purchase. You can also protect it by wrapping it in a polishing cloth and store it away. Remember to wrap each piece individually to prevent scratches.

Warmer weather is on it's way, so remember wearing jewelry in water that is chlorinated such as a pool, hot tub will cause tarnishing.

Until Next month...
